About the Author

Bonnie’s parents were business entrepreneurs. At a young age, Bonnie’s mom allows her to participate in business matters related to writing. This allowed Bonnie to work on projects that would enhance her literary skills while strengthening her communication abilities. Bonnie would soon discover where those experiences would take her. The love and care of Bonnie’s mother and father would pave the way for a literary journey. Bonnie’s professional interest in writing began as a student in elementary school and having a teacher, Ms. McWilliams who believed in her abilities. Her interest in communication was further nourished by her mother, a super-mom who instilled in her the belief that she could accomplish anything she set her mind to. Bonnie’s mother recognized her daughter’s talent in writing and her impeccable penmanship skills. Inspired by her mother’s belief in her literary ability, Bonnie continued a journey in service and educational careers. Throughout her career, Bonnie’s writing and strong communication skills would provide opportunities to serve on committees and special community projects. Later, Bonnie then used her talents as a communicator to serve, teach and motivate students in the K-12 educational environment. Bonnie went on to design graduate and undergraduate college level curriculum for Wisconsin educators to enhance their communication skills at McPherson College; Milwaukee Campus, Concordia College; West Milwaukee, Lakeland College; Sheboygan, WI and Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. Highly motivated, Bonnie pursued doctorate studies in adult education at Walden University located in Minnesota. The experience redefined her mission to serve and teach others through literature. One example of a goal fulfilled is Bonnie’s first title, “Mama Said…It’s the small victories that count!” written in her mother’s memory. The lighthearted story is narrated by a teenager who struggled with self-confidence in school. Through the pearls of wisdom bestowed by her mother, the character, Bonita learns how to regain belief in herself. This publication provided book signing opportunities and as presenter in Milwaukee, WI, Chicago, ILL, and Savannah, GA. Bonnie extended her credentials and enrolled in the Administrative Leadership and Director of Instruction, School of Education at Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI. Bonnie received her School Administrator and Director of Instruction licenses prior to retiring from the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS). Recognizing that parents are the first teacher in a child’s life, Bonnie continues to advocate for students, teachers and families through literacy and effective communication. Bonnie continues to reflect on her mother’s love, teachings and inspiration. As a result of her mother’s legacy with a strong family foundation, a loving and supportive husband, Bonnie practices as a professional & development trainer, educator, author and new entrepreneur with her husband.
